The privacy and security of your data are extremely important to us. FollowUpThen is in the business of helping people become more productive – not advertising, contact harvesting or data brokering.
We store followup message bodies with 128-bit encryption, backed up regularly with multiple layers of redundancy. We automatically delete email contents between 4 weeks to 6 months after the followup has been sent.
Every year, we undergo an extensive security audit by a Google-approved 3rd party security firm. They review our policies, procedures, encryption strength and perform rigorous manual and automated penetration testing to locate system vulnerabilities.
The (optional) part of our system that connects directly with your inbox connections is handled with particular care. It exists as its own, isolated, secure system which prevents exposure of unnecessary data while still providing productivity features that require deep integration with your inbox. This special section of our privacy policy describes part of our system in detail.
We even offer a “privacy mode” setting, where FollowUpThen deletes message bodies and attachments immediately upon scheduling. We send only the email subject and headers for the reminder so that it still appears in the proper thread. You can find this on your settings page.
We do make use of anonymous data from emails such as the type of mail client, as well as message headers so that we can determine the proper followup recipient. When you forward an email to FollowUpThen, we may parse out the “–forwarded email–” block at the top of the message to relate your followup with the original recipient, enabling us to send a more useful followup.
For support and debugging, and system operations, we do save and the headers and subjects of your followup emails in an unencrypted, searchable format.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions in specific, or read our privacy policy for more information.
